Martedì 28/11/2006 - USD Consumer Confidence e Existing Home Sales m/m

Consumer Confidence: Measures the mood of consumers in regard to economic conditions. The reading is derived from a monthly survey that asks respondents to evaluate the prospects for the economy in the future. Higher readings point to higher consumer optimism. When consumers are optimistic they tend to purchase more goods and services, which stimulates the economy.
Actual: 102.9 - Forecast: 106.4 - Previous: 105.4

Existing Home Sales m/m: Measures the annualized number of existing homes sold in the previous month. Existing Home Sales make up a larger portion of the housing market than New Home Sales, and therefore are an important indicator of trends in the housing market. This indicator is published monthly by the National Association of Realtors.
Actual: 6.24M - Forecast: 6.20M - Previous: 6.18M

I dati rilasciati alle 04:00pm (GMT+1) hanno prodotto un rafforzamento dell'USD nei confronti del l'EURO. Il grafico seguente illustra la discesa nel rapporto EUR/USD da 1.3162 a 1.3141 (- 21 pips).





Verifica dell'esperimento sull'account di prova di OANDA: anche in questo caso, 2 minuti prima dell'evento ho provveduto ad inserire 2 ordini così strutturati:

posizione Long: Limit Order a 5 pips sopra il prezzo del momento, TP + 55 pips e SL -15 pips
posizione Short: Limit Order a 5 pips sotto il prezzo del momento, TP - 55 pips e SL +15 pips

Mentre si avvicinava l'ora dell'evento, il rapporto EUR/USD è sceso ed un minuto prima dell'evento l'ordine Sell è stato eseguito (senza slippage). Ho quindi deciso di cancellare l'ordine Buy, ma alle 04:00pm (GMT+1) è successo che:

l'ordine Sell è stato stoppato (eseguito SL)
l'ordine Buy è stato eseguito e poi stoppato (eseguito SL)

Tutto nell'arco di un attimo... la cosa curiosa e che ancora non mi spiego è che il grafico non evidenzia nessuna transazione avvenuta a quei prezzi (mi riferisco all'ordine Buy e allo SL dell'ordine Sell). Cercherò di capire nei prossimi giorni, e vi farò sapere. La faccenda si fa interessante...
